Invasion Force - Japan
On VE Day we were tied up in the artificial harbour of Arronmanche.
We went ashore and were greeted with many hugs and kisses. We had a lecture from the Mayor and we then feasted and drank until we went back aboard the ship.
I wondered what would come next but in 4 weeks we had paid off the ship, been on leave and were on RMS Strathern bound for Bombay.
