Died: Aged 22, 12 Nov 1943, off Leros Island, Greece
Kenneth joined Barclays with his twin brother Warwick in 1939, and was posted to the branch at Rainham. Remembered by his colleagues as ‘loyal to the core’ and a cheerful fellow who ‘would never let you down’, Kenneth was a great tennis player who had won the Schoolboys’ Doubles Championship at Wimbledon with his brother in 1938. He joined the Navy in July 1941, and was killed in action while serving as second in command of a motor gun boat during the Battle of Leros.
