Memories replayed

Through my day job, I play various characters but one I live to portray is the 1940s and memories of my great grandmother, Queenie Elizabeth Beard. She always spoke how times were tough but how it never dampened their spirit. VE day was a family affair and spent celebrating with a small street party. Neighbours clubbed rations together and she always spoke of a cheese and apple cake that she contributed to the party, something I am recreating for the celebration on friday. It's always great to remember stories of the battlefront but I love those from the home front and it's an honour to keep those memories alive.
