Ordinary Seaman Jackie Wares

Not so much as a memory, more of a memoir. John Henry ‘Jackie’ Wares was just 19 when he died fighting for his country. An ordinary seaman, hailing from the seaside town of Brighton, he died aboard the ship off the coast of Ireland on 1st September 1944 when a German torpedo hit. This memory is for Jackie, my great uncle who I never met but always am thankful for x
